Clients vs. Contacts

The GreenVee navigation uses "Clients" and "Contacts" as two different views. This page explains exactly what each one shows.

Two items in the GreenVee navigation sound similar but show different things. Here is what each one means.

Nav item What it shows Underlying data
Clients Every Company record The full Companies directory
Contacts Every individual person across all Companies The full Contacts directory

“Clients” in the navigation shows every Company record, regardless of role — it is not filtered down to companies with the Customer role. Each card shows Customer and Supplier badges when those roles are assigned, purely as a visual reference, but Companies with only the Manufacturer, Subcontractor, Transporter, or Cooperation Partner role also appear here.

Use the Clients view when you want to:

  • Browse or search any organisation in GreenVee, on any side of the relationship
  • Check a company’s address, VAT number, or primary contact before sending an invoice
  • Find a company’s Banking Record for a refund

“Contacts” in the navigation is the universal people directory. It lists every individual Contact record across all Companies, regardless of role. A contact at a supplier, a contact at a manufacturer, and a contact at a customer all appear here together.

Use the Contacts view when you want to:

  • Find a specific person without knowing which Company they work for
  • See all the individuals linked to your business at a glance
  • Update a person’s phone number or email address
