Project Types

A Project Type is a shared, organisation-wide classification — a master-data list your administrators maintain, used to tag what kind of work a Project or Program represents (e.g. “PV Installation”, “Grid Upgrade”, “Substation Maintenance”).

Where it’s used

Both Projects and Programs can be tagged with a Project Type:

Project Types are managed from their own Project Types page. Opening a Project Type shows every Project and Program tagged with it, grouped and sortable the same way the main Projects list is.

Note

Project Type classifies what kind of work this is. It’s independent of the Project Phase, which tracks where in its lifecycle a project currently sits, and independent of the Portfolio/Program hierarchy, which groups work strategically rather than by kind.

For Administrators

Keep the Project Type list short and meaningful. It’s shared across the whole organisation, so every project or program can be tagged consistently — useful for filtering and for roll-up reporting by kind of work.
