Risk, Decisions & Governance
Governance in GreenVee covers three things: tracking what might go wrong (risk), recording what needs to be decided (decisions), and communicating status (reports and takeaways).
These tools work at two levels — the individual project and the portfolio — and they are kept deliberately separate. Understanding that separation is the key to using this section well.

The three governance pillars
Section titled “The three governance pillars”Risk — GreenVee models risk at two levels. Project Risks are the day-to-day operational threats on a single project. Portfolio Risk Factors are strategic criteria used to evaluate every project in a portfolio. These two systems are independent. Read The Two Risk Worlds before anything else in this section.
Decisions — A Decision is a formal open question attached to a project, program, or portfolio. Logging decisions keeps teams aligned and makes open questions visible in state reports.
Reporting — State Reports are the primary communication tool for project status. They are authored documents, not auto-generated. Key Takeaways capture learning for future teams.
