How KPI values stay current automatically, and how trend charts and change indicators work.
KPIs update themselves
Section titled “KPIs update themselves”You don’t refresh a KPI by hand. When something changes in the data a KPI depends on — a task is completed, a cost is recorded, a risk is added — GreenVee works out which KPIs are affected and recomputes them in the background. The widget on your Scoreboard picks up the new value on its own, the next time it’s shown.
Most KPIs are pre-computed so they load instantly. If a KPI hasn’t been computed yet for the project, program, or portfolio you’re looking at — for example, the very first time anyone opens that Scoreboard — GreenVee computes it live on the spot instead of showing a blank card.
Trend lines
Section titled “Trend lines”Some KPIs (like Project Profit) offer a line chart form in addition to their single value. This plots the KPI’s history bucketed by month, so you can see whether the number is moving in the right direction over time rather than just where it stands today.
Change indicators
Section titled “Change indicators”Some KPI cards and gauges show a small percentage with an up or down arrow next to the current value. That’s the change compared with a stored snapshot of the same KPI from a previous day — a quick read on whether things are improving or slipping, without opening the trend chart.

Section titled “Why this matters day to day”You never need to manually recalculate or refresh a KPI, and you never need to remember which underlying tasks, costs, or risks feed into it.
