What is GreenVee?
A one-page description of what GreenVee is and the problem it solves.
GreenVee is a workspace for engineering firms that plan and build technical installations — switchgear lines, photovoltaic (solar) systems, low-voltage electrical systems, and similar projects. It is a multi-tenant web application: each company has its own isolated workspace, and the people who work at that company log in to manage their projects there.
The problem GreenVee solves
Section titled “The problem GreenVee solves”Engineering firms typically juggle several different tools to run a single project:
- A project planning tool for the schedule and tasks.
- A spreadsheet (or another tool) for the budget and cost tracking.
- A CRM for customer and supplier contacts.
- A warehouse or ERP system for materials and stock.
- An HR system for employees, skills, and time tracking.
- A document folder somewhere for files and meeting notes.
- A risk register, often a separate document.
- A reporting tool for status reports.
GreenVee replaces that patchwork with a single workspace where the project plan, the team, the budget, the materials, the technical specification, the risks, and the reports all live together and stay in sync.
What GreenVee is not
Section titled “What GreenVee is not”- It is not a generic project management tool. It assumes you are doing engineering work — installing, building, or commissioning a physical system for a customer. Many concepts (technical structure, gates, procurement of goods) reflect that.
- It is not an accounting system. Money is tracked at the project and portfolio level for planning, but invoicing and bookkeeping happen elsewhere.
- It is not a public sign-up product. You do not register on a website. A company admin invites you into their workspace.
The shape of the product in one sentence
Section titled “The shape of the product in one sentence”GreenVee organizes everything around projects: a project has a plan (work to do), a technical structure (the thing being built), a team (people assigned to it), a budget (money in and out), and a set of risks, decisions, and reports that document how it is going. Everything else either feeds into projects (Stammdaten — master data like employees, skills, goods, and contacts) or rolls up from projects (programs, portfolios, multi-project views).
