Bookings

A booking is a time-bounded reservation. GreenVee has two kinds: Employee Bookings (reserving a person) and Equipment Bookings (reserving a piece of equipment). Both answer the same basic question: who or what is committed, and when?

Employee Booking

An Employee Booking blocks a specific employee for a defined period.

Field	What it stores
Employee	The person being reserved
Start	The date the reservation begins
Start time	Optional time of day the reservation begins
End	The date the reservation ends
End time	Optional time of day the reservation ends
Employee Usage	The Employee Usage (planned effort) record this booking supports

The link to Employee Usage is what connects an Employee Booking back to a Task. The Employee Usage record knows which Task and Project Member are involved; the booking adds the calendar dimension — the specific dates (and optionally times) when that work happens.

Equipment Booking

An Equipment Booking reserves a piece of equipment for a defined period.

Field	What it stores
Equipment	The item being reserved
Start / End	When the reservation begins and ends
Address	Location for the booking (e.g. a delivery or site address) — required
Plan flag	Whether this is a planned booking (shown with an orange “Planned” badge) or an ad hoc one
Type	Category of booking
Equipment Usage	The Equipment Usage record this booking supports

The link to Equipment Usage is what connects an Equipment Booking back to a Task. Equipment Usage is the record that joins a piece of Equipment to a Task for a planned use — holding a cadence (throughout, once, or periodic) and usage hours the same way Employee Usage does. The booking then adds the time window.

Every booking ultimately traces back to a Task through this chain. This means you can answer: for this site visit on Thursday, which task is driving it?

For Project Managers

Use bookings to confirm that resources are committed before work starts. An Employee or Equipment Usage record tells you how much effort is planned; a booking tells you when that person or machine will actually be on the task. If no booking exists, the effort is planned but not scheduled.
