Calendar Events

How GreenVee represents meetings, site visits, and calls as Calendar Events, including attendees and the distinction from Project Events.

A Calendar Event is a discrete meeting, site visit, call, or appointment that appears on the GreenVee calendar. It is independent of the project work plan but can optionally be linked to a Project, Segment, or Contact.

Field What it stores
Type The kind of event (e.g. VEVENT)
Start / End When the event begins and ends
Date The calendar date
Description Free-text description of the event
Meeting URL Link to a video call or remote meeting
Address Physical location (e.g. a site address)
Event notes Additional notes about the event
Project Optional link to a GreenVee project
Segment Optional link to a project segment
Contact Optional link to a contact person

Each Calendar Event can have one or more Attendees — people who are invited to or participating in the event.

Field What it stores
Email The attendee’s email address
Participation status Whether the person has accepted, declined, or not yet responded

Attendees are not required to be GreenVee users. An attendee is identified by email, which means external participants (clients, suppliers, inspectors) can be recorded alongside internal team members.

A Calendar Event is optional in terms of project linkage. When linked, it can point to:

  • A Project — placing the event in the context of ongoing work
  • A Segment — tying it to a specific phase or area of the project
  • A Contact — linking it to a client, supplier, or stakeholder

These links make the event discoverable from the project view, but they do not make the Calendar Event part of the work plan hierarchy. The event remains a calendar object.
