Time and Calendar

Timers & Labels

How GreenVee captures work live with the Active Timer, turns it into a historical Timer, and how Time Tracking Labels tag logged time.

Before work becomes a Time Log, GreenVee gives you two ways to capture it: a live running clock (the Active Timer) and, once stopped, a historical Timer record. Time Tracking Labels then let you tag logged time for filtering and reporting.

The Active Timer is the live, running clock you start from the Time Tracking page. It is synced across all of your devices, so starting a timer on your phone shows it running on your laptop too.

Field What it stores
Started at The exact moment the timer was started
Date The calendar date the timer belongs to
Start time The time of day the timer was started

Only one Active Timer runs per person at a time — starting a new one replaces whatever was running. While it runs, the elapsed time ticks up live on screen.

When you stop the Active Timer, GreenVee writes a Timer record — a stopped, historical entry with a fixed start and end time.

Field What it stores
Date The date the timer ran on
Start time When the timer was started
End time When the timer was stopped

Timers are listed on the Time Tracking page until you deal with them: convert one into a Time Log (optionally attaching it to an existing log for the same day), or delete it if it was a mistake.

Active Timer (running) → stop → Timer (stopped, historical) → Time Log

A Time Tracking Label is a colored tag that can be applied to Time Logs for categorization.

Field What it stores
Title Label text (e.g. “Travel”, “Billable”, “Internal”)
Color A color for visual identification
Description Optional free-text note about what the label is for

Labels are many-to-many — one Time Log can carry multiple labels, and one label can appear on many logs. They are used for filtering and reporting (e.g. “show me all travel time this month”).
